Documents to compare before a semi automatic capping machine order

A semi automatic capping machine often looks simpler than an automatic cell, yet the same closure physics apply. Decide how the filled bottle is restrained, which contact tools cover the SKU list, and how application torque will be recorded before treating two quotes as interchangeable.

Document comparison

Document comparison: Upstream

Compare the RFQ, the supplier’s scope letter, and the bottle/closure drawings. The semi automatic capping machine quote should name chuck or disk part numbers for each liner and neck finish. If the operator loads bottles by hand, record the working height and whether hot-fill bottles can be handled without crushing.

Control boundary

Do not accept a clutch setting as the only torque document. Ask for the instrument, units (often inch-pounds for application torque) and elapsed time after capping. Mixing removal torque with application torque is a documentation error, not a rounding difference. Positioning tolerance of the bottle in the fixture belongs in the same pack.

Downstream

If bottles later enter an automatic labeler, note scuff limits from the semi-automatic grippers. Spare parts and changeover tools should appear as priced lines. FAT may be a factory demonstration on a similar bottle; SAT should repeat the agreed checks on the buyer’s filled sample at the destination plant.
